The Black Panthers Accomplished a lot of different things for the black community. The black panthers started as a political group based on defense for the black people. They began in October 1966 in Oakland California. The practices of Malcom X were a deep impact on the black panther party they almost followed the same direction in the ways of there goals for the black community. The thing different about the was that the black panthers took a different approach to the ways of there rights. On April, 25, 1967 Chairman of the Black panthers Bobby Seale Marched along the California state capital with 30 fully armed black panthers in a protest to stop the outlaw of carrying loaded weapons.While police respond by arresting Bobby Seale and his 30 black panthers. Soon after this other blacks grabbed arms and started forming other chapters of the black panthers outside of state. In 1968 the defense chairman Huey newtons was arrested for kiling a cop by the name of Eldridge Cleaver, which started the movement of "free Huey". Now that the black panthers where spreading there roots deeper into the political world a man named Stokely Carmicheal the Defense chairman in the Student Non-violent Coordinating Commitee (SNCC) was another political party working for black rights. Stokely believed that in order for the blacks to make true changes in there community that they must cut themselves off from white people. By the mid 1970's black power movement orginizations like the SNCC and the black panthers had all but disappeared. The black power movement did not completely succeed in sepreating blacks and white but it did allow blacks to get blacks some essential elements fo blacks.
